Opening Reception for Politically Speaking: New American Ideals in Contemporary Jewelry
Saturday, August 27, 2016
4:00 – 6:00 PM
Join us at the Craft in America Center for the opening of Politically Speaking: New American Ideals in Contemporary Jewelry. This group exhibition of work by twelve American jewelry pioneers and emerging leaders will include pieces that examine our political landscape directly and metaphorically. Through imagery, representation and narrative, the discourse speaks visually. In some examples, hopes and fears are depicted metaphorically as underlying themes. This show will be an opportunity to consider the key issues of 2016 as reincarnated in physical form with power, intrigue, humor and lyricism.
The Craft in America Center is located at 8415 West Third Street, two blocks East of La Cienega and is open Tuesday – Saturday from 12:00 – 6:00 pm. Parking is available at meters in the surrounding neighborhood with restrictions, with West Third Street valet service, and at the Beverly Connection.
