Sarah McMenimen
Sarah McMenimen roots her work in several research methods. She incorporates a traditional studio practice, and readings in botany, anatomy, and anthropology. Through her sculpture and video, she aims to engage with interspecies communication, material experimentation, and ecology.
McMenimen graduated from California College of the Arts in 2008 with a BFA with High Distinction in Photography and pursued graduate studies UCLA, earning an MFA in New Genres in 2014. In 2010, she attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. Her work has been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions across the United States and is a part of the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum of Art.
