Uri Davillier
Uri Davillier is an artist working in glass and ceramic, and owner of Neptune Glassworks. Davillier creates both functional works and sculptural pieces. With an interest in the ability for objects to create connections, Davillier’s works are composed of an assemblage of contrasting objects based on aesthetic drive. He often uses overly fetishized reproduced items combined with overlooked everyday objects to create unexpected assemblages that produce new methods of how to perceive these items and discover how individuals store and recollect information.
Davillier attended Case Western Reserve University to study mechanical engineering and the Cleveland Institute of Art where he received his BFA in glass, ceramics and sculpture. After his graduation, Davillier traveled between Australia and New Zealand for two year on a scholarship to improve his glass making techniques, before settling in Los Angeles. Davillier opened his studio, Neptune Glassworks, in Los Angeles, CA, and works there with a crew of artists, creating lighting, drinkware, and sculptures.
