ATTN: Jewelry Artists & Enthusiasts
We are always so thrilled when other organizations promote the handmade, and our friends at Art Jewelry Forum (AJF) are doing just that. Founded in 1997, Art Jewelry Forum has consistently promoted art jewelry–that is jewelry that also functions as fine art. Through publications, funding of exhibitions, and their website, AJF has multiple platforms to explore the world of art jewelry. They have actually just made applications for the Susan Beech Mid-Career Artist Grant available online. Apply today!
Here are some ways you can find out more about what they do:
FOR WRITERS
Art Jewelry Forum accepts original content submissions for original writing related to jewelry. AJF has an open call for essay proposals. Each proposal is reviewed by our Editorial Advisory Committee and selected submission are then published on AJF. The author is paid, the writing is vetted, the essay is promoted broadly to AJF’s social media. They welcome proposals from all levels of writers, in any topic that is tangentially related to jewelry.
FOR ARTISTS
AJF has a different artist award or grant each year. Right now, the 2019 Susan Beech Mid-Career Grant, a $20,000 project grant for a jewelry artist to realize a dream exhibition, book, or other project, will be open Nov 1. The guidelines are available to help artist began preparing their applications in advance: https://artjewelryforum.org/
FOR EVERYONE
- PDF Library on AJF: AJF has a new digital library where catalogs, essays, and other digital media can be uploaded to our site and researched by those interested in learning more about jewelry. It is JSTOR specific to jewelry! All proposals are vetted by the Editorial Advisory Committee.
