Artist Statement:
Pinches Borrachos, (Fucking Drunkards) is a piece about the incoherent choices, actions, and positions people take from an emotional, rather than rational point of view. A drunkard sticks to his belief systems and scripts without analyzing a different perspective with an open mind and in the face of evidence. In his drunkenness, he is right, everyone else is wrong, there are no gray areas. The one that screams the louder wins an argument, with that end in mind, rather than aiming at understanding and contributing to complex and in depth dialogue to reach an informed consensus. The rough shape of the bottle and the blurred imagery echo its content.
